That wasn't bad...

I like that song. You did pretty good with this remix. The crowd SFX were a nice touch too. It started to get a little stale towards the end just because of the intro theme being repeated so much. I would've liked to here the refrain in there somewhere. But it's a good song nevertheless.

Rumbly....

Not a bad track. Very simple but effective.

IDReaper responds:

Thnx, atleast I know i got my point across lol. The second version I am working on is more complex, and has a better melody to it. Peace.

kinda bland....

...due to the lack of any other instruments. If it was an actual acoustic guitar it'd probably sound much nicer. That's not to say it doesn't sound good, because it does; it's just kind of soulless for such an emotional, mello sound. It's a good song though.

Thetatronica responds:

thank you for the review and yes, it is a somewhat bland song, but it does get supported when you listen to the song before it and the song after it, it really doesn't stand out as bland, although of course I have to post these songs each seperately so it loses that effect :) and yah, I wrote this on an acoustic guitar and then transposed it to a chorus guitar synth. I am going to be posting 2 newer songs tomorrow which I think are cool, one is Dire Dire Docks from Super Mario 64 transposed with a Square Purity as the lead and a piano as the background. It actually turned out pretty nice sounding and true to the original. The song that follows is called Snow (Interlude) which is a flanged piano loop which is only 2 minutes long (hence interlude) which goes very well along with Dire Dire Docks as sort of an LP feel. So tune in ;) hahaha

You know....

This sounds like it'd fit right in with a Megaman soundtrack. Maybe in the intro movie, or Dr Wily's stage. I dunno. It sounded pretty awesome.

really needs improvement

There were some good ideas presented in this song, but they ended up clashing rather working with each other. For example, at 2:05, the two melodies introduced there did not match the bass line at all. You've got too many things going on. and on top of that, there's a vocal track that almost seems forgotten underneath all the parts. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but I just want you to know what could be done better. Try getting the parts in the right key to work out all the dissonance, and bring the vocals out.

Kilkashi responds:

I have tried to brighten the vocals more and fine tune it to where nothing clashed and such. All my other variations just didn't seem to work, and I always felt something was missing. I listened to it for about two hours and tried rerecording the vocals to get it right, but it was the second take and adding in the bass line and the filler synths after the chorus that I was finally satisfied with it.
I do appreciate the criticism, it helps me to improve.

You're very good

This was well performed. Very impressive you learned to play this by ear. It's good to hear some real musicians on Newgrounds every once in a while. Makes me wanna record an instrumental.

It's ok

The sound seems rather cookie cutter to me. No EQ, compression, filters. It didn't move very much. The instruments seemed to be competing with each other rather than working together if you get what I'm saying. I'm not familiar with the software you used so I don't know what it's capable or and it's limitations. The song isn't great, but it's definitely not an epic fail. With time, you'll definitely get better.

Me likes

The piano part is gorgeous. I think it could be a tad bit louder though. Just a bit. And the drums fit great, especially around 2:27. This is a great song. You're definitely one of the more underrated artists.

Great Arrrrangement

Get it? Arrrangement? Pirates? Eh? EH? (>_<)

Seriously though, this is a very well made remix. I love the radio effects. Pretty typical Trance style stuff going on, but done very well unlike most stuff on this website. You kept it short, sweet, and to the point. Something I have a hard time doing. Great work!

HEY!

Yur tone sux!!! Did u plae tht wiht yur butt?!!? Seriously though, that was pretty cool. It almost sounded like you were trying to play "Dizzy Atmosphere" at certain parts. Nice little free-form solo there. Definitely need more live instruments on NG.

(>^_^)> <(^_^)><(^_^<) Unity is good.
