Hellz Yeah!

I love it! You guy have got some serious chops. This is the kind of stuff I love to hear. True originality and musicianship on Newgrounds. I would love to do this sort of thing one day. This song is very inspiring. I'd give you an 11/10 if that was allowed.

sorohanro responds:

thanx for the nice words
"I'd give you an 11/10 if that was allowed." - well, that's easy, you give me now 10* and tomorror you'll give me 1* :)))
if you like this combination betwen jazz, funk and Balkan music, i have some more stuff here ;)

Whoa...

Man this is epic. It's just I wish I could hear the individual parts a little clearer. The background choir and orchestra stuff was awesome, just a little too loud. I just think the levels need to be balanced, that's all. The song itself is unbe-freakin-lievable. It sounds like Dimmu Borgir meets The Faceless. You got some real talent there.

Crueldeity responds:

As soon as i get a few of my albums rolling, i'll definately touch up everything quality-wise, but for now i'm just focused on song structure and stuff, but thanks for checking it out dude!

Pretty good

I don't think this really counts as jazz. It sounds more like something from Kid A. It's not bad, but it's kinda empty. Needs a bassline. I understand you don't have a bass player, but you could always make your own bassline. Other than that, it's pretty good.

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

Thanks for the response. I think i counts as jazz.. There's subgenre's and such. Jazz would be one of them. Its all in those drums.. Its of course not classic jazz..but ah'..I'unno..Said it sounds like something from 'kid a' thats always good to hear :D love Radiohead.

I may go back sometime. Find a sample of a stand-up bass..etc..i dont know, i just never could find a good bass-sound to go along with it. So i never added much of one. There's a very small bass bits here and there. I'll come back to this some day? Heh.

Thanks for listening! : D

Not bad at all

I personally thought the music was done very well, but it was a little tacky. The beat just didn't make me feel anything. It's not bad by any stretch, it's just didn't groove hard enough. I understand it's Hip-Hop with an orchestral background, but it felt like it was just merely trying to both, but never being particularly great at either. I wish I could give a better description of what I feel, but all I can say is it didn't strike me too much.

flashmac responds:

Hey, that's cool man. Thanks for being honest.

eh?

A good effort, but I think you overdid it with those vocal samples. Not only that, you could have at least put the beat in the Fruity Slicer so you could manipulate it and switch the beat up a little rather than using that sample raw. The instrumentation was... different. Some things worked surprisingly well. but you should add some more melodies or beats or something rather than piling on vocal samples.

JPLaro responds:

Yes I think I did...It's the first song I ever made...chec out my other works (crazy electro buzz is better)

Rumbly....

Not a bad track. Very simple but effective.

IDReaper responds:

Thnx, atleast I know i got my point across lol. The second version I am working on is more complex, and has a better melody to it. Peace.

really needs improvement

There were some good ideas presented in this song, but they ended up clashing rather working with each other. For example, at 2:05, the two melodies introduced there did not match the bass line at all. You've got too many things going on. and on top of that, there's a vocal track that almost seems forgotten underneath all the parts. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but I just want you to know what could be done better. Try getting the parts in the right key to work out all the dissonance, and bring the vocals out.

Kilkashi responds:

I have tried to brighten the vocals more and fine tune it to where nothing clashed and such. All my other variations just didn't seem to work, and I always felt something was missing. I listened to it for about two hours and tried rerecording the vocals to get it right, but it was the second take and adding in the bass line and the filler synths after the chorus that I was finally satisfied with it.
I do appreciate the criticism, it helps me to improve.

Dang

This is Metal. Metal with a capital M. Great guitars, great vocals, sick drum track. Awesome!

Eternalreich responds:

have you killed a hobo today?

Smaple King of NG?

I don't know about king, but your one of the best without a doubt. This is hot. That orchestral flourish in the intro was perfect. Seriously man, the beat is fierce. I have no complaints about this one. Keep it up man!

Bleek989 responds:

naw homie i do kno bout tha king...LOL naw but thx for tha input n shit fool preceatie it famz

~1~

Niiice...

I love real mellow stuff like this; and then it gets pretty tense towards the end. The drums were awesome. And that background chord progression really gave you that feeling of floating in the middle of nowhere. Start to finish, this song is definitely 10 worthy.

nubbinownz responds:

You totally caught the feeling i was going for! Thank you SO much!
