you know

Maybe it's because I've listened to the music too much but this sounds like it could be battle music in the game Earthbound. I'm not sure what made me think that. But the song is good. Interesting to hear Donna Summer Fans on Newgrounds. How old are you exactly? Lol, kidding.

JohnDare responds:

19, but i listen everything and create everything!

Pretty good

A bit spastic in the beginning but evened out nicely once it got going. The melody at the end was kind of off key. A few note adjustments will fix that. Other than that you got something pretty good started here.

DjZombAid responds:

Thanks.
Spastic? How? (I need to fix it).
Thanks i can try and fix it =].

WHOA!

I did not see that coming. This isn't just a good remix of a Mario song, this is some seriously epic stuff here. The recording quality sounds like it was done professionally. If /i didn't find this song here I would have thought it was played by Brendon Small. Awesome job Devastus!

Devastus responds:

Thanks alot, I've got some minor quibbles with the recording myself, but as long as it still pleases the ear, it's good :P

Thanks for the review.

Ack!

A lot of good ideas, but they all sound like they belong in different songs. Individually the parts sounded pretty good. But they should be in the same key. Plus, variety is nice, but you're trying to put entirely too much into a three and a half minute long song. It's okay to stick to just one or two themes. Try breaking these ideas up. I think you can get at least 4 songs from the ideas you presented here.

daYoshifan responds:

Yes you're right.
It's everytime the same with me.
I think the song is boring so I put more things in it.
I only wanted that the song doesn't sound boring.
But thank you for the review.

I like it.

It's a beautiful piece. Very nice performance. I can't help but feel this was largely improvised, which in my opinion would make this even more impressive.

Reasoner responds:

It was written, performed, and recorded in 4 minutes and 35 seconds. Probably won't be able to do that again for another 2 years though lol.

Your tone...

It reminds me of Miles Davis. You're a genius and I am totally envious of your musical prowess.

sorohanro responds:

quite flattering to be compared with Miles
thanx for the very nice words, review and 10*
(anyway, my "musical powers" are counter balanced by my cooking skills)

Not bad at all!

This is really good. Unfortunately, I've never played Sonic Advance, but this song is very catchy. You did a nice job with the instrumentation. However some level adjustment might be needed. For example, the high-hat is kinda loud in certain spots and just makes hard to hear all the different layers. Other than that, very nice. I really enjoyed it.

PaulyBFromDa303 responds:

Yeah, i sorta did that on purpose. I was told it raises "intensity" at times lol.

It sounds nice but

It's just a bunch of preset sequences and such. It's not bad to use them, just try and use them in a manner that doesn't make it sound so amateur. You could build a real melody on top of this. Just turn the sequences down a notch or two and create something. It's a good start nonetheless, it just needs more of yourself in it and a little less Fruity Loops' stuff if you know what I mean.

heretic49 responds:

theres lyrics coming ot htis when the lady records them andsuch its just the start for my corprate monkey industrial piece with three of us all chipping in an such jus hungover playing an stuff so yeh

I like what you did

First off, I love that song. As far as the instrumentation goes and the chord progressions, you nailed it. I love the way it started. Sweeping chords and that panflute, brilliant. Now as for the drums, I think they could have been a little more subdued given this song is meant to be pretty laid back. It just kinda came on too strong when the beat dropped. This doesn't mean it's a bad thing what you've done here, This is just my personal opinion. It's your remix, which you've a darn good job. Something I've come to expect from you. Can't wait to here more.

nubbinownz responds:

Thanks for the review my man, Haven't heard from you in a while actually :D Good to know you're still around.
As far as the remake goes, it was really just a fun side project, nothing too serious. :) but I really do appreciate the feedback man

???

Ok, first of all, your author comments section does not leave a good first impression of you as an artist. You should probably simply say you're still improving and any criticism would be appreciated instead of completely bashing any reviewer before they even hear the song. Now to the music:
You've got some work to do. Melodically, well, there was no real discernible melody or harmony. It really sounded like you just kinda plinked some notes in a sequence and called a song (which technically could work if there was some structure to it). Secondly, what's with the sudden pause in the middle of the track? Then that third synth just pops out of nowhere and then the song returns to the previous theme. Really, this could work if you just put some more work into it. Add some effects, some more parts, and structure. This song, as it is right now, is soulless. Ok, now for the not so mean part: The best advice I can give is don't give up. Listen to all kinds of music to help you with ideas and maybe inspire you, and lastly, don't be offended by objective criticism. If the person criticizing you means well, you should take the advice into consideration rather than flaming them for not liking your music. Hope this helps, and good luck.

ILIKEVIDEOGAMES responds:

see i left comments like that for like all my other songs but i got sorta bored with it and decided to make something more interesting,
and thanks for the other stuff too, this is the longest reveiw iv got, and i appreciat that and a 4 isnt to bad, right?
i was complaining about the zeros bc i dont really think anthing that involved effort deserves a zero, a stolen copyrighted song deserves a zero, not just any crappy song, i think more people should round it up to one
