Whoa...

Man this is epic. It's just I wish I could hear the individual parts a little clearer. The background choir and orchestra stuff was awesome, just a little too loud. I just think the levels need to be balanced, that's all. The song itself is unbe-freakin-lievable. It sounds like Dimmu Borgir meets The Faceless. You got some real talent there.

Crueldeity responds:

As soon as i get a few of my albums rolling, i'll definately touch up everything quality-wise, but for now i'm just focused on song structure and stuff, but thanks for checking it out dude!

Catchy

This song was very catchy and energetic. I liked it. A little on the tacky side, but that's what gave it character, so it's a good thing. Nice work.

Excellent

Wow, that took me back! You really did this song all kinds of justice. Everything blended so well. Nothing was too overbearing. The string line was great. That little section starting at 2:03 was gorgeous. Yeah, I have no real complaints about this.

Pretty good

I don't think this really counts as jazz. It sounds more like something from Kid A. It's not bad, but it's kinda empty. Needs a bassline. I understand you don't have a bass player, but you could always make your own bassline. Other than that, it's pretty good.

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

Thanks for the response. I think i counts as jazz.. There's subgenre's and such. Jazz would be one of them. Its all in those drums.. Its of course not classic jazz..but ah'..I'unno..Said it sounds like something from 'kid a' thats always good to hear :D love Radiohead.

I may go back sometime. Find a sample of a stand-up bass..etc..i dont know, i just never could find a good bass-sound to go along with it. So i never added much of one. There's a very small bass bits here and there. I'll come back to this some day? Heh.

Thanks for listening! : D

Not bad at all

I personally thought the music was done very well, but it was a little tacky. The beat just didn't make me feel anything. It's not bad by any stretch, it's just didn't groove hard enough. I understand it's Hip-Hop with an orchestral background, but it felt like it was just merely trying to both, but never being particularly great at either. I wish I could give a better description of what I feel, but all I can say is it didn't strike me too much.

flashmac responds:

Hey, that's cool man. Thanks for being honest.

eh?

A good effort, but I think you overdid it with those vocal samples. Not only that, you could have at least put the beat in the Fruity Slicer so you could manipulate it and switch the beat up a little rather than using that sample raw. The instrumentation was... different. Some things worked surprisingly well. but you should add some more melodies or beats or something rather than piling on vocal samples.

JPLaro responds:

Yes I think I did...It's the first song I ever made...chec out my other works (crazy electro buzz is better)

pretty good

I like how this started, but I thought the melody at 0:48 sounded out of place. It just threw everything off for me. Maybe if you used a different synth (one that wasn't so harsh) it'd fit better. But I really like the percussion you used for the beat, and the arp synth fit perfectly. I actually like those parts better than the 'best' part. It's a good loop, but it would be better if that one synth was different.

Impressive

Again with the crowd sound fx, lol. I'm surprised a song like this has so few listens. This is really good. That kick was really heavy (in these super bass headphones I have on) and I like how you changed the theme up often. That really kept it interesting. As far as mastering goes, everything sounded pretty balanced to me. So any mastering would pretty much be cosmetic rather than balancing any serious issues like peaking. I really enjoyed this one.

Nice...

It could work as an intro and an outro if you cut it in half of a metal album. Or song. Either would be cool. It was both beautiful and dark. Very nice work.

Unique, but a little unbalanced.

The generally gloomy atmosphere of this song was very nicely executed. It made me think of Metroid Prime for some reason. Some of the instruments and sound effects really threw off the balance of the song. They were a little too loud. For example, from 3:46- 4:40 there was a low synth chord that just swallowed everything up whenever it came in. To your credit, this song has lots of character. I'm gonna check out your other stuff now.

PS: A review or two would be much appreciated if you're up for it. Thanks
